Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this exceptionally fine 19th century Italian Cylinder top Bureau bookcase with ornately inlaid internals.

This is one of the finest flamed mahogany cylinder top desks I have ever seen, its early 19th century circa 1820, for a 200+ year old piece is looks simply amazing. You have various drawers and cupboards all over, very finely inlaid and highly decorative panels. The base drawer which works as a sliding desk area has further sliding drawer tops, I’ve only ever seen this on Gillows of Lancaster furniture. This was constructed by a master craftsman, the quality of the work is mind blowing.
In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be genuine age related patina marks all over, this has all been left in situs as it’s a good honest antique. I can have it fully restored at the new owners request and cost to gallery perfect condition.
