Description

A lovely satin birch chiffonier. We date this chiffonier to the late 19th century.
The chiffonier sits on a plain plinth base with a gallery back.
The gallery has an ornate carved design over a full width shelf that sits on a turned support at each end.
The chiffonier consists of two drawers over a large cupboard. The cupboard has a mid height wooden shelf.
The right hand door is fitted with a working lock (key supplied).
The front of the chiffonier has a protruding plinth to support a tapered pillar at each side. These have ornately carved mounts at the top.
The drawers have a lovely convex design, the drawers are operated by a recessed handle beneath the drawer.
The chiffonier has an overall height of 57" (146cm) including gallery, a table top height of 39’’ (100cm), a width of 48" (122cm) and a depth of 16" (41cm).
This lovely chiffonier remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is some minor wear and indent marks to some of the edges and the top surface. The table top surface has slightly mellowed over the years and there is a slightly larger indentation as can be seen in the pictures. There are a couple of old veneer repairs.
This remains a very stylish and elegant chiffonier which will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
