Description

Mahogany dining chairs in the manner of Thomas Chippendale. Six plus two carver chairs. Super scale of chair slightly larger than most copies of this period. Pierced carved backs with drop-in upholstered seats. Fret carved corner brackets with pierced H stretchers. Lovely period looking colour with a rich waxed patination. Solid original chairs of true Chippendale design, they are handsome set with exceptional carved detail. Upholstered in a cut velvet fabric. Seat height 48cms. The black and white illustration is of a chair from 1760 which is in the V and A Museum. Dimensions are for the arm chairs.
